Natural Language Processing Scientist

The Natural Language Processing Scientist is responsible for developing a state-of-the-art medical NLP pipeline as part of Pieces Tech’s clinical decision support system. He or she is responsible for the design, development, refinement, and implementation of algorithms for segmentation, lexical analysis, natural language parsing, and conceptual indexing. He or she also works with cutting edge technology and is responsible for exploratory work, improving and innovating, while focusing on delivering the required applications of relevance to Pieces Tech’s NLP goals.  The responsibilities of the Natural Language Processing Scientist include the following:

Responsibilities

  • Designs, builds, and evaluates multi-lingual text analysis algorithms that are accurate, scalable, and production-quality by applying both statistical and rule-based techniques.
  • Articulates, examines, analyzes, summarizes, synthesizes, and develops cross-discipline (analytic, hardware, and software) solutions to clinical and operational problems identified by clinicians and hospital administrators that are prioritized for the organization.
  • Identifies flaws and drawbacks in method design and implementation. Designs novel algorithms for problem solving, which may include data cleaning, feature selection, statistical modeling, data clustering and classification, text processing, and other machine learning algorithms to solve complex healthcare problems presented by healthcare organizations or required in grants obtained by the organization.
  • Leads or collaborates with different functional teams (including physicians, scientists, health services researchers, mathematicians) within Pieces Tech and externally, to find solutions to complicated and challenging problems raised by healthcare organizations or within grant applications.
  • Integrates the NLP pipeline into the production environment and ensures its scalability.
  • Identifies and deploys existing machine learning, natural language processing, and information retrieval techniques and systems for knowledge management and discovery using EMR data including admitting diagnosis, reason for consultation, clinical history & physical notes, progress notes, discharge summaries, and other free text fields.
  • Completes peer-reviewed manuscripts and grants related to specific projects both individually and with a team.
  • Identifies ways to improve work processes and improve customer satisfaction. Makes recommendations to supervisor, implements, and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals of Pieces Tech.
  • Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field of NLP writing by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, and actively participating in professional organizations. Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices.
  • Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines that impact the NLP area and Pieces Tech. Develops effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable laws, accreditation agency requirements, and federal/state/private health plans. Seeks advice and guidance as needed to ensure proper understanding.

Director of Marketing

The Director of Marketing will define and optimize strategic and tactical components of marketing at Pieces Technologies. This individual will oversee brand integrity, develop and implement direct marketing programs to generate awareness, craft go-to-market messaging, work closely and synergistically with the Sales team, and executive team. We are looking for a unique combination of hands-on strategic and tactical marketing operations skills.  The responsibilities include the following

Responsibilities

  • Maximize our presence in the market among key influencers and clients across conferences, speaking opportunities and other content assets as needed.
  • Define and direct marketing programs for demand generation, thought leadership and client engagement.
  • Craft messaging that ties our data & analytics platform, community health initiatives, and consulting services together into one cohesive and powerful narrative, while honing tight messages for individual products and offerings.
  • Measure marketing results and ROI by developing and tracking KPIs.
  • Work with external partners on co-marketing activities as needed.
  • Triage of campaign generated marketing-qualified leads to the sales team, monitoring lead quality and ensuring sales follow-up.
  • Ownership of the processes where sales and marketing communicate and collaborate on marketing campaigns e.g. preparing campaign target lists, coordinating timely follow-up, tracking progress, capturing feedback and etc.
  • Measuring the number of leads generation by the marketing team by campaign, resulting meetings, opportunities and closed deals
  • Ownership of the size and quality of our house list, including solution/audience-specific segments, in close coordination with our sales and marketing intelligence team
  • Ownership of webinar execution, production and follow-up – including maintaining a webinar playbook
  • Ownership of email marketing, including extensive use of our marketing automation system Active Campaign, and Salesforce
  • Define, maintain, and reinforce brand integrity, including but not limited to style guides, presentations, and marketing collateral.

Sales Intern

An internship with Pieces Technologies an excellent starting point for your career.  You will learn a lot about startups and healthcare and work alongside nationally recognized physician leaders, commercialization executives, and analysts.  You will learn the basics of sales, product development, marketing/branding, and customer success. You will report directly to the Sales Operations Partner, and will be an integral part of the Commercial Operations team.  

We are aware that most interns will also be full-time students, so we will put your education first.  We will work with you to find the right schedule and balance of hours to be successful at both work and school.  We are also interested in mentoring and coaching young minds that are eager to learn about our industry.

Responsibilities

  • Predominantly supporting sales operations initiatives, including Salesforce CRM implementation and optimization.
  • Engaging in research using commercially available healthcare databases, internet search processes, and by directly communicating with clients.
  • Providing support to the team by assisting with the creation, distribution, and execution of materials and processes to promote Pieces Technologies in the marketplace

SVP of Sales

The Senior Vice President of Sales is primarily responsible for establishing the sales targets, developing the strategic sales plans, and leading the effort to achieve Pieces Tech’s customer acquisition and revenue goals. In addition, the SVP of Sales will build an effective sales team, manage customer expectations, and assist in gathering product feedback that will promote sales growth and contribute to a high level of customer satisfaction.  The responsibilities of the Senior Vice President of Sales includes the following:

Responsibilities

  • Selects, trains, schedules, motivates, supervises, and evaluates employees making recommendations for disciplinary actions up to and including termination, to ensure maximum utilization of individual and group capabilities. Ensures that assigned employees receive opportunities to further their knowledge. 
  • Oversees strategic account relationships with key executives, physicians, chief decision makers and/or hospital administrators (multiple decision makers and influencers). 
  • Directs the sales process, including prospecting, qualifying and positioning of Pieces Tech’s suite of products and services. 
  • Monitors the performance of the sales team by establishing a system of reports and communications involving sales reports, cyclical sales meetings, sales newsletters and electronic bulletins. 
  • Responsible for being up-to-date with the latest clinical data supplied by Pieces Tech and interpreting, presenting and discussing this data with health professionals during presentations. 
  • Proactively identify changes in healthcare, delivery systems, and competitive pressures and develops and modifies strategies and tactics accordingly. Maintains competitive knowledge to create and adjust sales strategies as needed. 
  • Develops competencies and processes required to create an effective and efficient sales organization. 
  • Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field of software sales management by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, and actively participating in professional organizations. Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices. 
  • Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws and guidelines that impact the Pieces Tech Sales department.   • Health care background and experience with large health systems clients.
